7 Days Later? Really?

Well apparently I slacked on my blogging this week. Busy working on Master Teacher at school, trying new Lean & Greens, and losing 2 more lbs!! Yay! that is -28 now. As Mr. Buble sings...I'm Feelin' Good....

A friend that I teach with emailed me this Wednesday morning. It made my week!

"like sands through the HOURGLASS
so are the days of our lives"
who needs an HOURGLASS from days when you work with one right down your hall?!
KEEP IT UP! YOU ARE LOOKING AWESOME- SOOOO PROUD OF YOU!
Thanks, Brittany! I love my Mound girls. Lori told me my sweatshirt was too big. Is that possible? Hoodies are meant to be big. Tammy W. said I have little legs. Linda said she just might have to order some of "that oatmeal"! lol. Jenny said my jeans are too big. Short sentences, but powerful words.

Random Thoughts:

Rebounding. Brownies. Chili. Lovin' Saturday!

WAHOO!
A very special lady sent me brownies today. Thank you to my health coach Lisa!

TSFL clients have the opportunities to have a health coach free of charge. I'm a girl that doesn't share my life with many people. Oh, I have many friends. But I've been hurt too often, so I am cautious as to whom I open up with. So, for me to take advantage of a free coach is not my personality. It helps that I know her sister. My coach is my #1 motivator. Lisa - you are the best!

My 45 minutes of exercise today: Rebounding

I'm having Chili again tonight:
1 packet MF Chili
6 oz. ground turkey
1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
chili powder, salt, garlic powder

Skyped my
granddaughters twice before 2:00 p.m. I love the Skype camera. I got a good picture of Sarah and Beth today. New wallpaper! And I managed to get Pete out of bed singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with Anna.
Hey Anni - "YO!"

Forum Friends

I've met some new gals: the Miracles. When I joined the MF forums Anne was recruiting members to participate in a 6 week challenge. Stay on the diet (OP=on plan) 100%, drink at least 64% water daily, exercise at least 45 min daily, and weigh in every Sunday. So I thought about it and decided to join. It is difficult to be accountable! The Miracles are inspiring and have a lot of great ideas. I'm just not sure they get my sarcasm.

When I started reading the threads on the forum I had to get used to the language! I'm quizzing you on some of them: (answers tomorrow)

The Pill That is Saving My Marriage

I love the Crunch meal bars. Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter, Lemon Meringue, Fruit & Nut, Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate. Those are the only ones I've tried. And I can eat 5 each day if I prefer to (as my meals). I never have because my family would make me live in the garage and it's like the South Pole out there. I never have, but why? If I were to, I would be, uh, let me say, very "windy". One night I ate two bars because I needed to get my last two meals in before bed. I had the bars with a large glass of water, like preferred. Holy Toots Batman!! I kept the house awake all night.

Now I have pills!

Beano. 2 pills before a bar and I'm pleasant to be around. My husband has stopped cleaning the corner of the garage.

Today's Random Thoughts:
-I never lie. When someone confronts me about it (memory) I'll know I'm in the right. Grrr.
-birthday lunches are great
-chocolate cherry muffins that are OP = :D
-Solar Tan
-Skype rocks

Happy Wednesday Evening!

After being inside for snow days, I went to the store to make a Spring dinner for myself. My sister's neighbor gave me sweet basil this summer and I had Caprese Salad many times. This sounded like a good choice, so off to Dorothy Lane Market I went. The sweet basil wasn't strong in taste, but still had the anise taste I like. Here's the recipe:

Caprese Salad
4 oz fresh, part-skim mozzarella, diced
1 cup fresh basil
1 cup fresh, diced tomato
1 cup fresh spinach
3 T. approved Italian salad dressing

Mix together and marinate for 3 hours.

Makes me want summer to be here! That plus my 5 meals and I'm a happy gal. I had peach pancakes after school to cheer me up. I was going to make them last night, but was too tired. I put the batter in the fridge until this afternoon. What a plus! They were thick and rich. ICBINB and WF pancake syrup and I was in TSFL heaven.

I had a chat with Linda, my buddy - my partner in crime. I asked her if stress causes a person's health problems or if health problems cause a person to have stress. I need to know the answer and then I need to fix it.

Random Thoughts tonight ~
-I'm peculiar
-I am able to teach the kids-but need someone to tell me I'm doing a good job

-coffee in the evening relaxes me
-seizure symptoms are back
-I cry every night

Tomorrow I will tell you about the little pill that is saving my marriage...

Peace out ~

Nini

The Scale

My doctor's scale weighed me at 233 lbs. Mine in my bedroom (hardwood floor) read 223. Because I will use mine more often and I like the lower number, It's what I'm going with for now. Duh.

I'm blogging six weeks into my journey, so I will back track with random thoughts:

It's the end of December 2009 and I'm beginning my diet on New Year's Eve. Crazy Nini. But a desperate girl jumps right into what she needs. The first 4 days were horrible. Full of aches, nausea, weakness. I was singing Achy Breaky Body all 4 days! I really was anxious to get through it before school started up again, so I didn't feel rotten in front of my class. "Excuse me class. I need to faint!" I don't think so!

My peers at school want to go out to eat for lunch, but I now pack every day. It really helps me stay on plan (OP). Linda can't get over me eating Blueberry oatmeal for lunch and being full. But it's very satisfying.

I lost 10 pounds my first week! Yay! I'm a very slow, insulin-resistant loser, so when I lost an additional 15 lbs. over the next 5 weeks.... Wowzers!

More later. Maybe a picture!

About "The Plan"

My plan is to feel better and be the best a person can be on a diet. TSFL (Take Shape For Life) is a meal replacement program that helps a person gain health while losing weight. http://www.medifast1.com/community/downloads/quick_start.pdf
On the diet, I receive the necessary vitamins, nutrients and minerals I need lose weight. Doctors created this diet to be safe and effective for weight loss. The plan creates a fat-burning state in your body while keeping you feeling full, so you can lose weight quickly while preserving muscle tissue. I get to eat 6 times a day!

Taking Shape For Life

140 it is.
My doctor said it bluntly: "You have no choice. You are taking all the right meds to help your body. You need to be healthy. Changing your diet is imperative. The weight must come off."

December 2005. I was given the same advice by my cardiologist 4 years ago, when I weighed 260 lbs., so I embarked on a drastic "diet" for 3 years. (I still believe it was a very healthy lifestyle.) I just became bored when I stopped losing weight. I was +/- settling at 200 lbs. My blood work showed no improvements. Hey ~ I'm a gal that needs success and motivation. That's when this free spirit began eating with her family again and the scale began sliding upwards. Sliding? Charging. Marching. Galloping. Sprinting. Get it?

December 2009. Facebook is a fun social networking site. I lurk, comment, and post a picture now and then. When I saw a friend's new profile pic I didn't recognize her. If it was her. I investigated through the "inbox" and learned about the Take Shape For Life program and its impact on her life. I spent the evening on a Google search and printed out information for the doctor to approve. She did and this is Nini:140 and my aches, successes, photos, recipes, whines, and joys getting to 140 pounds.
