Taking Shape For Life

140 it is.
My doctor said it bluntly: "You have no choice. You are taking all the right meds to help your body. You need to be healthy. Changing your diet is imperative. The weight must come off."

December 2005. I was given the same advice by my cardiologist 4 years ago, when I weighed 260 lbs., so I embarked on a drastic "diet" for 3 years. (I still believe it was a very healthy lifestyle.) I just became bored when I stopped losing weight. I was +/- settling at 200 lbs. My blood work showed no improvements. Hey ~ I'm a gal that needs success and motivation. That's when this free spirit began eating with her family again and the scale began sliding upwards. Sliding? Charging. Marching. Galloping. Sprinting. Get it?

December 2009. Facebook is a fun social networking site. I lurk, comment, and post a picture now and then. When I saw a friend's new profile pic I didn't recognize her. If it was her. I investigated through the "inbox" and learned about the Take Shape For Life program and its impact on her life. I spent the evening on a Google search and printed out information for the doctor to approve. She did and this is Nini:140 and my aches, successes, photos, recipes, whines, and joys getting to 140 pounds.
